WHO
White Horse is a labor of love developed by Anne MacIver. If so inclined, you can read my bio here. The key takeaway is that Iād been an Illinois lawyer for over two decades before opening my own divorce consultancy; I believe all women need affordable divorce support extending far beyond the courthouse; and I have been guiding women in one way or another since finalizing my own split in 2016.

Fun facts. Prior to committing to one career, Iād been a student, mother, litigator, securities lawyer, in-house counsel, homemaker (quite, quite bad at that), screenwriter, linguist, editor, perpetual volunteer, travel-tech executive, lead singer, travel writer, senior political advisor, business strategist, ghostwriter, researcher, national sports program board director, English teacher in Argentina, cashier in Paris, accidental nanny in Brazil, delinquent student in Spain, racetrack concessions manager in Del Mar, maker of lots of weird things from short films to a single award-winning music video, and unofficial animal whisperer (giving chickens epsom salt baths and teaching wild raccoons to drink from Camelbaks). I have also flown in the cockpit of a commercial Boeing 737.
Maybe less fun, I am divorced. Possibly like you, I went through a midlife divorce. I spent 15 months in mediation, moved with two children a block away from my ex, and became legally divorced in December 2016. During that time, I went through all the feels. And guess what? I came through it better than fine. Better, maybe, than ever. And so will you.
WHY
The purpose of White Horse is to give back to all the women who have lifted me up over the years, and to make use of the knowledge, lessons, and tips that take up space in my head. I dish out that love regularly in my one-on-one consulting practice, but I deeply believe I can help women everywhere: you are welcome to read about my 2020 epiphany.
I created this two-minute video to introduce myself and give you a glimpse into who I am and why we are here.
WHEN
White Horse launched on New Year’s Day 2023, and we are busy planning our community portal!
The next several months will look like this:
- Introducing new content
- Adjusting and polishing the platform, including necessary troubleshooting and tech improvements
- Responding to visitor feedback and suggestions
- Rolling out the community platform and forums
- Developing members-only events, including Live sessions
- Planning and growing a personal referral database for members
- Building the coming features shown here
- Mapping out long-form video tutorials
- Formulating broad-use, downloadable checklists, and e-materials
- Somehow finding time to get the word out and tweak the backend so that Google can find us
That may not sound fun to you, but it actually sounds super fun to me.
THE HORSE
For two decades, I have called nearly every unpredicted blessing in my life a “white horse.” Specifically, I’m referring to things that may enter life as hideous, negative events but later turn out to have been exactly what you needed, at the time that you needed it.
